Duke Safaris Hunting and Photographic Guides Contact Us Home Duke Safaris Home

Dear friends,

Our season at Duke Safaris has long since ended and we find ourselves behind our desks with mountains of paperwork. The time has also come to prepare for our annual migration over the pond to the USA in February.

We would like to start off by thanking all of you that supported us this past season, especially under the current economic climate. We do however see the light at the end of the tunnel, and are positive that things are on the up for everybody. The season was full of highlights, we enjoyed great success with our Leopard tags and Buffalo. Plainsgame was as good as ever and found us traveling as far a field as the Free-state to secure some of the rarer species for our returning clients.

The new Bow blinds we built this year also paid off for us, a number of great trophies were taken in the latter part of the season.

A visit to the 2009 Gallery on the website, will bear testimony to our success this year.

This past season found us catering for many large groups of both family and friends, Mahlahla proved to be the perfect venue once again. Our smaller groups we managed to accommodate at Murchison View (Roelof and Sophie’s new camp), This proved to be very comfortable and we look forward to running more Safaris out of this unique camp in the future.

Rookie and Scout survived their first season of hunting with us, they were still a bit young and eager this year but are showing great promise. We look forward to developing their skills in the seasons to come. Diana, being an old hand, proved to be invaluble to us on numerous occasions.

We have managed to secure all the same areas for next year again and have been offered a new area of 30 000 acres, we will negotiate for this new area in January. The Klaserie Game Reserve adjacent Kruger has their tender out at the moment, we enjoyed great success with 5 Buffalo bulls there this year and hope to tender again for buffalo for the 2010 season. Please contact us if you would be interested in a Buffalo or Elephant hunt, as the tender closes on Friday 8th January 2010.

We are very exited to announce that we have been allocated a Trophy male lion as well as a management female for the 2010 season, we would like to offer these to our long standing clients before we advertise them at the show in February. Roelof is currently in the UK looking for potential interest, but we will both be heading to the states early in February. Ryan will be joining us at the show this year to promote the travel side of Duke Safaris, both he and Lee contributed hugely to the streamlining of our services this year.

The eastern outdoor show runs from the 6th to the 14t of Feb (Booth # 6408) this year after which we head to Mississippi and DC, we can be contacted on our mobile while in the States: 1964 805 4898

We hope to see as many of you as possible on our 3-week tour, and look forward to hearing from you all.

We wish you all a merry Christmas and all the best for the new-year

Fondest regards
The Duke Team
